2026 - Sat 4th April, Sun 24th May
Join us on this Spring Edible Workshop based in Rochdale, Greater Manchester where we will forage for lots of different edible spring plants and fungi. You will get hands on, picking and tasting plants from the wild there and then!
Spring offers us some amazing plants and fungi that have culinary and medicinal uses, some of which have fascinating stories behind them. On this one day workshop we will help you identify key species and show you how to tell different species apart, from the delightful Wild Garlic to the tangy Wood Sorrel and even some fungi like the appropriately named St George's Mushroom - which usually appears around the 23rd April!
We start the day in an ancient oak woodland in Rochdale, foraging for a number of edible plants that you can get hands on with them and even taste them. You will be shown how to forage in a sustainable way, only taking what you need and not damaging the area you can foraging from. Where possible there will be the chance for you to pick your own wild spring greens and take them home with you to cook up in your own kitchen.
Our courses are limited in number allows for a good atmosphere and allows David to get to know what each persons knowledge base is and cater to their needs (as well as following Covid guidelines), whether you are a complete novice to foraging or slightly more experienced we can offer everyone a truly great experience.
