Gallery of Wildlife & Landscapes
Welcome to my wildlife & landscapes gallery — a collection of images capturing the birds, moths, fungi, lichens, wildflowers and landscapes of North Wales. Using a style that often employs bokeh — soft, blurred backgrounds that make the subject stand out — I aim to draw your eye directly to the species, highlighting their beauty and uniqueness. Every image is a moment of discovery, captured with care and a love for the overlooked.

Photography has always been my way of connecting with nature. With a First Class Honours degree in Wildlife Photography, I approach each shot with the desire to document and celebrate the species I encounter. My work often uses bokeh — a technique where the background is deliberately blurred, letting the subject take center stage. This helps you focus on the intricate details of a bird’s feathers, the delicate textures of a moth’s wings, or the subtle beauty of a lichen or fungus.

This style grew out of my early attempts to draw and paint wildlife. I loved realism but struggled to capture it on paper, so I turned to the camera. Photography gave me a way to record species accurately while still expressing the aesthetic beauty I had always sought.

Now, my aim is to inspire curiosity and appreciation for species that often go unnoticed. From tiny fungi and lichens to shy moths and wildflowers, I hope these images encourage you to look closer, notice the small wonders, and share in the joy of discovering North Wales’ rich natural world.
