Wild Day in the Rhinogs – Episode 1 of My New Series is Here! 🌿🎥🐦

There are some days that just stick with you—and filming the first episode of my new Walks & Wildlife series in the Rhinogs was definitely one of them.

I’d been planning this series for a while, dreaming of blending my love of hiking with those beautiful, fleeting moments you get with wildlife when you're out in nature. And wow... what a way to kick it off. The Rhinog mountains—sometimes called the Welsh Badlands—gave me everything I could've hoped for, and more.

The air was crisp, the sun broke through the clouds just enough to light the hills in that golden, magical way, and it honestly felt like the landscape was putting on a show just for us. From moss-covered rocks to ancient lichen-covered trees, the place felt alive.

One of my absolute highlights was catching a Dipper doing its classic bobbing along the river. Then, of course, came the goats. Totally unexpected, totally brilliant. There’s nothing quite like turning a corner in a quiet mountain pass and locking eyes with a shaggy, sure-footed goat who seems to say, “You don’t belong here, mate.”

It reminded me why I love doing this—why I want to share these little encounters with all of you. There’s so much beauty and life in these remote places, and sometimes we just need a gentle nudge to get out there and feel it for ourselves.

So yep—Episode 1 is finally live! Whether you're a hiker, a wildlife nerd, or just someone who needs a virtual escape into the hills for a bit, I think you’ll enjoy this one.

Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and ring that bell if you want more nature goodness coming your way.

Thanks for being here—and I’d love to hear what you think of the episode. What would you love to see in future ones?

Catch you on the trail,

Dave
