Wild Day in the Rhinogs – Episode 1 of My New Series is Here! 🌿🎥🐦

Updated: May 1

There are days that stick with you. Filming the first episode of my new Walks & Wildlife series in the Rhinogs is one of them.

Planning the Adventure

I had been dreaming of this series for a while. The goal is to blend my love of hiking with the fleeting moments you encounter with wildlife. And wow, what a way to kick it off! The Rhinog mountains—often called the Welsh Badlands—delivered everything I could have hoped for and more.

The Magic of Nature

The air was crisp. The sun broke through the clouds just enough to light the hills in a golden, magical way. It felt like the landscape was putting on a show just for us. From moss-covered rocks to ancient lichen-covered trees, the place truly felt alive.

One of my absolute highlights was catching a Dipper bobbing along the river. Then, of course, came the goats. It was totally unexpected and completely brilliant. There's nothing quite like turning a corner in a quiet mountain pass. Suddenly, you lock eyes with a shaggy, sure-footed goat that seems to say, “You don’t belong here, mate.”

The Joy of Wildlife Encounters

These encounters remind me why I love doing this. I want to share these experiences with all of you. There’s so much beauty and life in these remote places. Sometimes, we just need a gentle nudge to get out there and take it in for ourselves.

In our increasingly busy lives, it's important to find moments of peace. Nature tends to provide that if you're willing to explore.

So, if you're a hiker, a wildlife enthusiast, or just someone looking for a virtual escape into the hills, I think you’ll enjoy this episode.

What Lies Ahead

Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and ring that bell if you want more nature goodness coming your way. Thanks for being here! I’d love to hear what you think of the episode and what you’d like to see in future ones.

Remember, every expedition is a new adventure. Each journey teaches us something unique.

So, let's explore together, and who knows what we might find? Nature has so much to offer, and I'm excited to share it all with you.

Catch you on the trail,

Dave
