Spring Foraging (Flints, North Wales)

2024 - Sat 6th April, Sunday 5th May

Join us on this Spring Foraging Workshop based in Flintshire where we will forage for lots of different edible spring plants and possibly even some fungi. You will get hands on, picking and tasting plants from the wild there and then!

Spring offers us some amazing plants and fungi that have culinary and medicinal uses, some of which have fascinating stories behind them. On this one day workshop we will help you identify key species and teach you how to identify plants such as Wild Garlic, Cow Parsley and Cleavers. We will also encounter the young stages of the most poisonous plants in the UK like Hemlock Water-dropwort so you will learn what to avoid as well as what plants to pick.

We be walking through woodland, fields and along hedgerows to encounter a wide variety of species and to discover as many different tastes from the wild during the early part of spring. You will be shown how to forage in a sustainable way, only taking what you need and not damaging the area you can foraging from.

Our courses are limited in number as this is for a good atmosphere and allows David to get to know what each persons knowledge base is and cater to their needs (as well as meeting Covid guidelines), whether you are a complete novice to foraging or slightly more experienced we can offer everyone a truly great experience.
